Black Box Performance Project
presented by South Fork Performing Arts in association with Southampton Cultural Center
Director Tamara Salkin acts as a guide and mentor to help actors learn theatre skills for on and off the stage. Using Black Box Theatre style and techniques, participants will perform a one act play in an educationally based setting. Take the focus off the set, costumes, lights and spectacle to bring the focus back to the actors and the work they are doing. Actors will do thorough script and character analysis. Actors will make stagecraft decisions regarding the minimal costumes, sets, props, sound design, and lighting design. Actors will learn production duties such as creating art and copy for distribution and more.
Tuition: $600
Ages: 13-18
Minimum 5 participants registered by October 5
Due to the fast rehearsal process (there are only 8 rehearsals!), participants are requested to be OFF BOOK before first rehearsal so that we can get to work right away!
Audition Date: October 6 11:00-2:00 at SCC, 1-2 minute monologue encouraged, sides will be provided, advance registration required, if you cannot make the date audition private auditions may be scheduled at the directors discretion

Not everyone actor will be needed for all the listed times but should be available for most
